For Ruby Range Adventures
A few years ago, a good friend of mine spent a summer guiding canoe trips up in the Yukon. Each time he'd get back to civilzation, he'd send me updates containing photos of the immense landscapes he was travelling. Since then, a Yukon paddling trip has been on my bucket-list. When Whitehorse-based Ruby Range Adventures invited me to tag along with them on a 450km paddle down the Yukon River from Carmacks to Dawson City, I naturally agreed to hop on.
We got rained on heavily and then roasted by the sun, watched a Grizzly chase a Moose (and miss her by a hair), saw a lone grey wolf howling on a hilltop, slept beneath midnight rainbows, gorged ourselves on well-earned and very delicious food, caught fish on flies and paddled our butts off. It was truly a once-in-lifetime experience.
Thanks Ruby Range.
