Joel began his photographic career in 2014 when a documentary project he shot in the
Yukon Territory earned him a scholarship to participate in a documentary editing workshop hosted by The Boreal Collective.
He studied fine art and photography at Ryerson University in Toronto and has since then,
been pursuing editorial and commercial projects while quietly working on personal documentary and expressive works.
In 2018, he received an Emerging Photographer Award from the Palm Springs Photo Festival
for a documentary project exploring the diversity of freshwater systems in Canada.
Joel is now based in Squamish, BC.
