For Ruby Range Adventures
A few years ago, a good friend of mine spent a summer guiding canoe trips in the Yukon and each time he'd arrive back in civilzation, he'd send me email updates containing photos of the immense landscapes he was travelling. Since then, a Yukon paddling trip has been on my bucketlist. When Whitehorse-based Ruby Range Adventures invited me to tag along with them on a 450km paddle down the Yukon River from Carmacks to Dawson City, I naturally agreed to hop on.
We got rained on heavily and then roasted by the sun, watched a Grizzly chase a Moose (and miss her by a hair), saw a lone grey wolf howling on a hilltop, slept beneath midnight rainbows, gorged ourselves on well-earned and very delicious food, caught fish on flies and paddled our butts off. It was truly a once-in-lifetime experience.
Thanks Ruby Range.
